HipSoft Website Design The goal of this project was to design a website that showcased the latest Hipsoft games and most valuable Intellectual Properties to customers and potential business partners, while also making news items and the back catalog of games easily accessible. The site needed to be simple to navigate and have a clean and colorful aesthetic that was fun to look at and related well to other successful casual and mobile game companies. My duties and responsibilities on this project included designing the look and feel of the site, creating the site diagram, sketching and wireframing each of the pages, completing all of the final art assets and writing the copy. All artwork was created using Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator and the site was constructed using Adobe Muse. Thumbnails and Sketches
These are a few examples of thumbnail sketches for the home page. It was decided early on that the navigation bar would be broken into two groups. The top section of the bar would contain the basic site navigation links, while the bottom part would have branded links that the user could use at any time to access the company's most valuable properties (Build-a-lot, Flip Words and Puzzle Express).
Wireframe Layout This is the wireframe layout for the main landing page. At this point we had a pretty clear idea of how much space was needed for each section so that I could begin creating the visual prototype and then the final art assets.
Final Home Page The original HipSoft website was dark gray, purple and blue, which made the site feel dark and dated. The new color pallet utilized more white and light gray "negative" space and bright blue as the main color relegating the purple to more of an accent color. This gives the site a brighter, more contemporary look.
Game Properties Landing Page Headers All titles were grouped by platform in "Pods" on the Games Page, however each of the company's three most popular properties (Build-a-lot, Flip Words, Puzzle Express) had their own landing pages so that customers and potential business partners could learn more about those properties and see all of the games in that product line together on one page.
Each game has it's own landing page with download and purchase links.
